How to enable Instafloss for Ortto
Instafloss verifies each new person in Ortto within minutes of joining. Ortto does not let apps register webhooks for you, so you add a webhook in Ortto and send one activity to it. It takes about five minutes.
Before you start
- Connect Ortto to mailfloss first. See How to connect Ortto to mailfloss.
- Instafloss needs the Business plan or the Instafloss add-on.
Step 1: Turn on Instafloss in mailfloss
- In mailfloss, open your Ortto connection and go to the Schedule tab.
- Turn on Instafloss.
- Copy the URL and the token. mailfloss shows the token only once. If you lose it, click Replace token to get a new one.
Step 2: Send new people to mailfloss from Ortto
- In Ortto, create an audience of everyone with an email address: go to CDP > Audiences, filter on Email has any value, and save it.
- Go to CDP > Data sources > New data source and choose Webhook (advanced).
- Paste the mailfloss URL and keep the method POST.
- Under Custom headers, add X-Mailfloss-Token with the token from mailfloss. Click Create.
- Go to CDP > Activities and open Entered audience.
- Under Data destinations, choose Send activity to destination, pick the webhook you just made, and click Save.
The Test button on the webhook sends one real person from your account, so mailfloss verifies that person.
Step 3: Check that it works
Add a test person to Ortto. Within a few minutes, the Instafloss panel in mailfloss changes from Waiting for the first event to the time of the last event, and the person appears in your Instafloss results.
Turning Instafloss off
Turn off Instafloss in mailfloss. mailfloss stops verifying events right away. You can leave the data destination in place or set it back to Don't send activity in Ortto. When you turn Instafloss back on, the same URL and token work again.
Replacing the token
Click Replace token in mailfloss, then paste the new token into the X-Mailfloss-Token header of the webhook data source in Ortto. The old token stops working at once.
